You can learn with HiAn for a long time without paying. What the subscription buys is the depth — and we would rather say exactly what that means than list adjectives.
No card, no account

Prices are set by your App Store and shown in your own currency.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of that. Manage or cancel it any time in your App Store account settings.
Because your App Store sets it, in your own currency. A figure typed onto this page would be wrong for most of the people reading it and stale for the rest, so the app reads its real prices from StoreKit and shows those instead.
Indefinitely. It is a tier, not a trial: 8 lessons, 20 free scenarios, all 1,025 words and the full review schedule on everything you learn, with no expiry and no card.
No. Your progress lives in a database on your own phone and the app does not delete it. What relocks is the paid lessons, conversations and drills; the review schedule for phrases you have already met carries on exactly as before.
The subscription attaches to your Apple ID and supports Family Sharing. Progress is per person, so everyone keeps their own schedule on their own device.
Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves, but tell us what went wrong and we will help.
